The Quality Data Analyst is responsible for high quality data analytics which supports and promotes continuous improvement in quality care and patient safety throughout the organization. Incumbent is an expert in data abstraction, manipulation, analytics, and the creation of professional quality data scorecards. Has knowledge of medical terminology, regulatory requirements, and performance improvement strategies to ensure appropriate monitoring systems are in place to promote high quality of care. The Quality Data Analyst is responsible for working to gather and organize data from a variety of clinical sources, including retrospective and concurrent record review accomplishing data acquisition in accordance with timelines, while communicating when issues pertaining to data quality of clinical care issues arise; preparing reports and scorecards, and maintaining a level of data acquisition reliability and accuracy that meets standards.
What you will do
Work across functional areas to collect, analyze and present quality improvement data for purposes of Institute-wide program evaluation, management/decision-making, clinical quality improvement, and regulatory compliance
Ensure on-time reporting of key metrics to internal and external stakeholders and maintain responsibility for some data entry tasks
Present data analyses to non-analytical audience i.e. Administrators, clinicians
Facilitate project groups in the development of survey tools, metrics, dashboards, reports, and quality monitoring plans with a focus on the analytical and statistical perspective
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. Assists with data collection and aggregation for focused regulatory compliance activities
Look for potential quality issues or examples of best practice and refers these to appropriate clinical teams or leadership for appropriate drill down investigation or endorsement as best practice
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Management, Mathematics, Nursing, Public Health or related field
Five years’ experience in Healthcare reporting, quality improvement, data collection and analysis or utilization management in a hospital setting required
Demonstrated proficiency in data collection and data analysis for quality and safety performance improvement
Must be well versed in statistics, data analysis and statistical process control (SPC)
