This is an entry level position, on site (local residency required)Position Purpose
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Health Information Management Analyst performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of physician documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
What you will do
Participate in clinical data collection reviews to capture the facilities' compliance in documentation quality and completeness
Complete quality control and indexing processes to ensure that all documentation is viewable in the EHR for continuity of patient care
Ensure every page is accounted for in the correct patient's chart
Identify and correct error(s) identified during the quality control review process and escalate issues to the HIM Technical Lead
Rescan and upload any missing documents according to department procedures
Minimum Qualifications
High School Graduate or equivalent
Associates Degree in Health Information Management or presently enrolled in a Health Information Technology program or similar degree preferred
Two or more years analytical and/or clerical experience in an acute care setting required
Previous health-related experience working in an EHR preferred, EPIC or OnBase preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology required
Knowledge of and understanding of the requirements for complete medical records, per hospital, medical staff, Joint Commission, CMS, and other federal and state guidelines required
Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy regulations required to complete appropriate release of patient health information
