Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a remote Epic Scheduling Template Analyst. The Epic Scheduling Template Analyst is responsible for the creation of, and updates to, provider templates for assigned areas incorporating the Guidelines for Template Standardization. The Analyst monitors master and daily schedule change requests.; works with Providers, Clinic and Patient Access Managers, Supervisors and Schedulers to identify the most efficient, streamlined appointment scheduling process by incorporating various scheduling options into the provider schedule definition; assists with the training of Template Builders to ensure consistency and adherence to all approved scheduling standards; develops and modifies scheduling templates to optimize provider time in clinics; and assists in improving patient access, provider book rates, and provider productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Providing oversight of master schedule templates for new and existing providers, including new appointment type requests (i.e., new patient; established patient; urgent; etc.) and visit type load balance
  • Working in conjunction with site leadership and I.S. to identify, review and make recommendations to Providers and Patient Access leadership of suggested master temple enhancements
  • Ensuring change requests are completed according to process guidelines.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3 years of scheduling experience and 1 year of master template experience required
  • Scheduling / master template experience within healthcare preferred
  • Ability to lead change and continuous improvement methodologies required
  • Proficiency in MS Office required
  • Knowledge of physician/hospital workflows required
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills regarding collecting and compiling data, with the ability to identify trends
  • Excellent communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Current Epic certification in at least one Epic application required, or the ability to achieve certification within 180 days.
