Major Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a technical leader and mentor to up and coming team members.
  • Effectively articulates recommended solutions to project teams, management, and executive leadership.
  • Takes lead on large projects, initiatives, and complex changes.
  • Performs platform-specific technical tasks including upgrades, installation, and configuration and installation of patches and fixes to minimize risk and service disruptions.
  • Performs day to day engineering and operations tasks on Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) and Access Control System (ACS) to include installation, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Helps in the prevention and remediation of cyber security attacks.
  • Resolves availability, capacity, and performance issues.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
  • Participate in risk assessments of various requests.
  • Works with engineers to ensure security compliance. Scripts and automates various tasks related to network and security support.
  • Performs problem analysis and documentation, root-cause analysis, and create incident reports.
  • Performs detailed troubleshooting for complex operational issues.
  • Work with the team to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Performs tasks relating to business continuity products, including patching, health checks, audit review and repair, configuration modifications.
  • Ensure service performance meets or exceeds business expectations and is delivered in accordance with SLAs.
  • Performs hands-on work to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the network hardware, software, and other components required for connectivity.
  • Perform hands-on work to maintain products, services, protocols, and standards that meet network industry standards.
  • Perform new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. Execute the design concepts, implementation plans, device setup and configuration settings, and maintenance plans. Performs troubleshooting.
  • Stays up to date on network specific skills and practices.
  • Supports users by a variety of methods, providing technical expertise to users and/or written means.
  • This position is required to participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related field.

Preferred:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNP)
  • Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
  • F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA)

Experience/Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum seven (7) years of related network engineering and security experience.
  • Must have experience with HSRP, 802.1Q, Spanning Tree, IP subnetting, IP routing including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP.
  • Design and deploy datacenter network, storage, and compute.
  • Experience in logical design models (L2/L3, vPC, vPC+, VDC, FEX, datacenter zones, OTV, fabric path, spanning tree, port channels, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling).
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting of GLBP, HSRP and VRRP.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting of AAA, ACLs, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, IP source guard, port security, TrustSec
  • Working technical knowledge of network control protocols (QOS, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, FTP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, IPSec).
  • Strong knowledge IP communication and routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
  • Understanding of WAN/LAN and transport technologies (Ethernet and MPLS).
  • Excellent hands-on technical knowledge of network equipment, including routers and switches.
  • Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and internet standards and the ability to conduct research into networking issues and products with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate in a high-pressure environment with strong customer service orientation and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and wireless controllers.
  • Experience with Checkpoint firewalls.
  • Experience with F5 Big IP load balancers.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Cisco Stealth Watch.
  • Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls.
  • Experience with Cisco Identity Service Engine.
