Job Summary
Mass General Brigham is an integrated academic health care system, comprised of 16 member institutions, including Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Mass General Brigham Health Data Solutions (HDS) sits within MGB Diversified Businesses Group and is responsible for responsibly sharing MGB data and specimen assets with external parties for mission-consistent uses to maximize the impact these assets can have on advancing healthcare through the creation of new products, treatments, or services.Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Operations, the Senior Manager will work on major initiatives critical to MGB HDS’s objectives. The Senior Manager is primarily responsible for supporting business development and key activities that inform MGB HDS’s offerings and strategic decision making.
This highly visible position will involve considerable interface with executive leadership from public and private sector businesses and senior leadership across MGB.
Essential Functions:
- Acts as the primary point of contact for request intake from external parties seeking to engage with MGB HDS
- Develops a deep understanding of MGB HDS’s mandate to evaluate and advance mission-consistent requests
- Supports negotiation and development of agreements with external parties
- Leads business and strategic planning activities to operationalize MGB HDS initiatives and deliver on requests
- Conducts strategic market intelligence, including supporting fair market value assessments
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Management, or related field of study required
MBA/Master's Business or Sciences preferred
Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
Experience
-
5+ years of project-related and/or business development experience required within the technology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and/or medical device industries
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong network and relationships with healthcare industry professionals and executives, particularly in the healthcare data space.
Deal making experience.
Familiarity with healthcare data modalities such as radiology, genomics, pathology, laboratory data, and electronic health record (EHR) data is desirable.
Ability to manage large, complex workstreams, including their dependencies, team members, other resources, and timeline.
Ability to organize, prioritize and delegate work and meet tight timelines.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with people cooperatively and effectively from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy.
Ability to facilitate and work within a complex, fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Working Schedule:
Hybrid, 1-2 days weekly at Assembly Row, in Somerville, MA.
M-F eastern standard business hours. Remote working hours require a quiet, secure, HIPAA-compliant workstation.
