Job Summary
The role works with EMPI Operations staff and entity and affiliate staff to address patient identity data integrity issues. The primary responsibility is to provide operational support in the management of patient identity. The position is also responsible for supporting maintenance of patient identity data integrity and assisting the unit in piecing together the patient identity story.Essential Functions
-Manages paper chart retrieval and return process.
-Performs paper record analysis and update electronic record with missing data.
-Contact patients as needed, following strict protocols/policies and procedures to clarify, confirm, and obtain documentation for identity changes and duplicate record verification.
-Manages EMPI emails, telephone calls, service tickets, and correspondence as required.
-Receives, validates, and completes requests to mark a patient as deceased, updating the EPIC MPI and EMPI systems.
-Compiles statistical data as needed for all entities participating in the EMPI and Epic MPI and identify trends and/or issues pertinent to the operations and integrity of the EMPI and Epic MPI database.
-Provides feedback to users regarding data integrity errors, distributing communication regarding data integrity policies, procedures, tip sheets, and best practices.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Experience
Related experience in healthcare setting 2-3 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical, investigational and problem-solving skills.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong PC skills required.
- Strong organizational skills.
