Job Summary

Summary<br>Oversee the installation, ongoing maintenance, and proper operation of all the organization's automated dispensing devices and will also support the efficient use of the pharmacy software and hardware utilized.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Monitors system activities and makes or coordinates any necessary repairs. <br>
-Trouble-shoots and repairs the devices when necessary, including opening/monitoring service tickets and vendor support dispatch. <br>
-Performs preventative maintenance as required. <br>
-Installs new hardware or software when required. <br>
-Participates in the multidisciplinary team to address system issues, develop and review policy/procedures, and contribute to planning. <br>
-Builds and configures medications, formulary, inventory, and other relevant information in the systems. <br>
-Oversees/participates in the rollout of new equipment or hardware upgrades. <br>
-Establishes and reviews daily reports, such as refills, stock-outs, all station events, discrepancies, overrides, ordered medications not loaded, etc. <br>
-May perform the duties of a Certified Pharmacy Technician as necessary. <br>


Qualifications

Education Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Pharmacy Technician Certification [CPhT] - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required Pharmacy Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Experience Experience as a certified pharmacy technician with an understanding of electronic health record systems 3-5 years required and Experience with pharmacy computer systems and related technology 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Advanced knowledge of computers and computer software. - Knowledge of the basic operations of a hospital Pharmacy Department, including processing prescriber medication orders, the operations of the automated dispensing cabinets, and the safe and effective distribution of medications. - Solid interpersonal, organizational, technical, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to collaborate effectively with teams comprising individuals of many different backgrounds.
