• Serve as liaison with external staff at Mass Department of Public Health (MDPH) and New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS) for Electronic Lab Reporting, Immunization Reporting, and Syndromic Surveillance programs; responsible for supporting the MGB Public Health Reporting mailbox, investigate inquiries related to data quality, and work with internal Digital/Lab-based teams to remediate any issues
• Support Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR) infrastructure: update build in Ensemble and State Portal when new reportable tests are created; configure ELR Rules Engine and update/test interface specification based on changes to reporting requirements at the MDPH and NH DHHS
• Support Symedical terminology management system: assist with planning and testing software and hardware upgrades; load and configure source and target catalogs; keep mapping up-to-date with terminology version updates (e.g., LOINC); produce ad hoc extracts of mapping based on requests from DHeC Orders and other MGB teams
• Support ESPNet, an Infectious Disease Case Reporting tool sponsored by the Mass Department of Public Health: assist with planning and testing software and hardware upgrades; work with vendor to configure tool to ensure that EHR data is correctly detected by the algorithms for 7+ disease classes including HIV, Tuberculosis, and Hepatitis
• General analytical support for Interoperability projects and programs. Examples include: DXO/Care Everywhere Phone Book maintenance required by TEFCA/HTI-1, Direct Address Maintenance (Provider Enrollment, Monthly New/Inactive Providers), Vital Records Integration via Mass HIway (Birth and Death Reporting), Public Health-related projects that may be forthcoming based on HTI-4 Final Rule
• Participate in 24/7 On Call rotation supporting Epic Care Everywhere, Public Health Integration including Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) EHR Integration, Clinical Conversion, Symedical
Job Summary
SummaryAct as part of a team of application and workflow experts to provide design & build support supporting Epic and/or other healthcare systems. Analyzes the organization's current business practices and translates them into configurations and workflows for successful product implementation.
Essential Functions
-Assists with the documentation of business requirements and the translation of those requirements into functional specifications and/or system build/configuration for the software application.
-Assists with the development and execution of testing plans and other software quality assurance tasks.
-Provides ongoing support of the software applications by identifying and resolving issues, escalating as needed for timely resolution.
-Runs reports and performs other tasks associated with the ongoing operation of the software environment.
-Participates in regular team meetings to discuss team activities, issues, and updates.
-Participates as needed with a review of the training curriculum and end-user documentation for the applications user community.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Experience in healthcare information technology 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to obtain required Epic certifications as outlined by program requirements.
- Experience in the development, support, or operation of software applications, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to document workflows and business processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and other popular office productivity solutions.
