Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Data Quality Intern to join our team. In this role, you will assist in cleaning and maintaining databases, validating data accuracy, identifying mismatched or inconsistent information, and developing automated processes to update and correct data. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data management and automation while working alongside a team of experienced data professionals.• M-F Eastern Business hours required, Hybrid working model includes onsite work weekly and events at MGB local sites and Assembly Row.
• Remote Working days require stable, quit, secure working area that is HIPPA compliant
• Intern program dates; June 2nd start date required through August 8th (40 hours per week)
• Onsite events are planned ahead, working days onsite weekly vary for department needs, must be flexible
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying errors, inconsistencies, and mismatches in datasets.
- Perform data cleaning tasks, such as removing duplicates, correcting inaccuracies, and standardizing formats.
- Validate data against predefined rules and criteria to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement automated workflows for detecting and fixing data quality issues.
- Help generate reports and dashboards to track data quality metrics.
- Document processes and procedures for data validation and automation.
- Conduct research on tools and best practices for improving data quality.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL, MySQL).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data manipulation.
- Exposure to programming languages such as Python, R, or similar (experience with data libraries like Pandas is a plus).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with automation tools or scripts for data processing.
- Knowledge of data quality principles and best practices.
- Basic understanding of APIs or ETL processes is a plus.
