The Opportunity:
Senior Data Analyst, Enterprise Emergency Medicine– Analyze and Interpret data related to the operation and management of Emergency Departments (EDs) throughout MGB. Elicit data and report requirements from hospital leadership, clinicians, and other staff, using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, use cases, scenarios, data analysis, task, and workflow analysis. Query and analyze data from hospital systems such as our electronic medical record system (Epic), enterprise data warehouse (EDW), external websites, and more, to glean meaningful insights and produce actionable reports for internal customers. Create and present analyses and data visualizations that are suitable for presentation to senior leaders and key stakeholder groups at both hospital and enterprise executive levels. Work with Enterprise Operations Insights (EOI) staff in design, maintenance, and distribution of reports while also overseeing ad hoc data analyses and new report development as needed. Perform comprehensive quality assurance, ensuring that data and reports meet end user specifications and are accurate and reliable. Work with new and existing EOI analysts to share knowledge in methods of data analysis, summarization, and presentation. Trains other analysts and end-users on key analytic and reporting systems and databases. Partner with more junior analysts on projects as needed. Partner with MGB Digital (IS) teams to leverage existing tools, methods, and processes in order to deliver timely information to operations stakeholders across MGB, including Snowflake and SQL Server. Ensure data integrity by maintaining existing ED databases and identifying areas for improvement in data reporting. Implement quality control, data security procedures and data audits.
Qualifications
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in management, information systems, statistics, or related field and five years of work experience in the job offered or related field of healthcare analytics.
Must have the following:
- 5 of years of experience with relational databases such as Snowflake or SQL, data visualization, or Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau.
- 5 of years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
