Research Assistant I, Radiology - (3289832)

Description

A Research Assistant position is available in a research lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital's Department of Radiology.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The daily responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Data collection - Test software and hardware that are being developed, against performance metrics.
  • Lab work - Assist with lab work, such as assembling electronic circuits, maintaining lab records, and correcting procedures.
  • Statistical analysis - Conduct and interpret statistical analysis to generate reports for discussion with research supervisors.
  • Literature review - Search for and review published literature on a research topic.
  • Laboratory equipment - Maintain laboratory equipment by keeping a clean workstation and lab environment, scheduling regular maintenance, and calling technicians for repairs.
  • Reports and presentations - Prepare reports or presentations that include workflow diagrams, data collection techniques, results of each experiment, and concluding remarks.
  • Grant applications - Assist with grant applications for research funding.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS OR BA required.
  • New graduate with relevant course or project work

The successful applicant should have an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, experience in the design of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and discrete circuits, experience programming in python, and experience in the implementation of machine learning (ML) applications.

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Good oral and written communication skills.

· Knowledge of clinical research protocols.

· Knowledge of computer programs, databases, etc.

· Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.

· Careful attention to detail.

· Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subjects’ rights and individual needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The work will be performed in a dry lab environment. Office space will be provided for computer work, and lab equipment will be provided for electronics work.
