After the quick integration for October 2025, BMCHS has begun deeper due diligence and incorporation efforts, including in ambulatory.
During the last 6 months, BMCHS has identified additional challenges, included but not limited to the following:
- Clinic Operations Subscale
- Volume: There has been a steady decline in volume due to many factors and 75% of clinics are operating subscale
- Staffing: Clinics appear to be significantly overstaffed for volume
- Referrals: New patients come in via referrals that arrive primarily via phone staffed in each individual clinic (or less often via fax)
- Management Structure Variable & Lean:
- Lean administrative structure and focused on day-to-day emergencies across many subscale and geographically dispersed sites
- Variable # and types of roles across each site
- Data & Reporting Gaps:
- Challenge to data availability in the interim, prior to Epic go-live
- Limited governance and oversight to establish shared goals and manage key metrics
