This position is an Hybrid opportunity.
The EPIC Pharmacist Analyst will be responsible to:
- Serves as a team resource with a deepening knowledge of assigned operations, the related Epic application and relationships with other Epic products.
- Work typically requires an understanding of context and relationships between operations and Epic related systems in addition to understanding the basis for current configurations (i.e., historical decisions) in order to resolve moderately complex problems.
- Engages end-users in operations to understand business needs (process, data and/or reporting) and the context for the current state. Clarifies and finalizes the scope of the request with the end-user/client.
- Conducts technology and operations analyses to identify root causes to problems or solutions to new requirements.
- Outlines the necessary build, highlighting considerations and estimating time for completion. Proposes solutions for team, senior team member or management review as appropriate.
- Participates in analyzing tickets to identify need for project-based work (e.g., enhancement, system modifications).
- Modifies rules which are often characterized by multiple variables, use of new elements or properties (e.g., visit types in Cadence), creation of templates based on standards (e.g., user access templates), some custom logic (although still straightforward), etc.
- Records decisions and applicable business rules and prepares or may assist in preparing user documentation.
- Conducts unit tests of own work and engages team members in second level QA testing. Adheres to department build standards, procedures and change control process relating to own work and the supporting work of other team members.
- May support the department’s general operational efforts i.e., coordinating with ISD in Epic build migrations between environments.
- Coordinates the implementation of solutions impacting the supported application, the external vendor, end users, and supporting technical teams.
- Identifies potential implications to management for integrations within the department’s core Epic application, associated devices, non-Epic applications and vendors.
- Participates in upgrades by reviewing release notes that impact the supported Epic application. Outlines the necessary build and/or testing for review by senior team member or manager.
- Creates, maintains and updates relevant test scripts. Performs intermediate system maintenance (e.g., working with sending systems to address interface errors, annual loading and updates for industry based edits).
- Participates in regular routine communications with Epic representatives, including participating in recurring project team meetings to review outstanding support, request assistance, etc.
- Regularly obtains feedback from super-users and their managers. May provide specialty training to user groups.
- Manages own project work or that of a small team ensuring completion according to schedule, etc. 10.Professional Development. May attend and present at external forums (i.e., Epic XGM Support – Expert Group Meeting).
To qualify, you must have:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is required
- 3-5 years as a hospital or ambulatory pharmacist is required
- 3 years of experience directly involved in Willow Epic Inpatient application is preferred
- Experience as a super-user of an Electronic Health Records systems generally, if not Epic specifically is also preferred.
