We are seeking a highly motivated Data Coordinator to lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive research data infrastructure supporting multi-center cardiovascular research studies. The role involves designing, building, and managing integrated databases and data workflows that combine clinical records, advanced cardiac imaging datasets (including DICOM/NIfTI and image‐derived quantitative measures), and related phenotype information. The Data Coordinator will develop automated pipelines for secure data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, harmonization, and quality control across internal and external sites. The position requires management of both structured and unstructured data, including large imaging repositories, and ensuring compliance with data governance, HIPAA, IRB, and institutional security standards. The Data Coordinator will work collaboratively with investigators, trainees, and clinical research staff to define metadata standards, establish reproducible data workflows, support data queries and cohort generation for analysis, and prepare datasets for manuscripts, presentations, and grant submissions. Responsibilities also include oversight of REDCap (or similar) data capture systems and documentation of data processing workflows, version control, and audit trails. Familiarity with cloud-based storage infrastructures and/or cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field (preferred, not required).

Strong programming proficiency in Python; experience with SQL and database management systems preferred.

Experience working with medical or biomedical datasets; experience with imaging data formats (DICOM, NIfTI) is a plus.

Exposure to cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS S3/EC2, Azure, GCP, or institutional HPC clusters) is desirable.

Familiarity with REDCap or similar clinical data capture platforms preferred; training available.

Excellent organizational and documentation skills, with strong attention to detail and data integrity.

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple parallel workflows.

Commitment to researching best practices and maintaining compliance with patient privacy and research data security requirements.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Extracts data on protocol patients from electronic and paper hospital records, outpatient charts and private physician office records in order to complete data collection required by specific protocols. Enters data into computerized system. (essential)
2. Validates data entry and comparison of data obtained electronically and from medical record review. (essential)
3. Assists investigator with correspondence with IRB. (essential)

Required Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or GED required.
2. 0-1 years related work experience required.
3. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.


Preferred Qualifications:
1. Understanding of medical terminology and/or experience in medical record review

Social/Environmental Requirements:
1. Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.
2. Work is fairly routine from day to day. Employee follows a set pattern with any changes being communicated by supervisor.
3. No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions

Pay Range:

$21.64 - $34.62

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
