The CDAC engineering team enables research by providing infrastructure, tools and expertise for working with medical Big Data. The CDAC engineering team also develops and maintains the Brain Data Science Platform (BDSP, website: bdsp.io), whcih is recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as an approved repository for researchers to meet NIH Data Management and Sharing (DMS) requirements, advancing open science, and facilitating collaborative research.



We are looking for a software / data engineer who can thrive as part of a cross-functional team, working alongside experts in neurology, neuroscience, statistics, time series analysis, machine learning, and computer science.



Responsibilities include:

- Developing and deploying software that interacts with clinical information systems, databases, and mobile devices

- Design, create, build, integrate, maintain and optimize multiple ETL data pipelines.

- Design, build, and maintain the BDSP website.

- Work with external sites to ingest, de-identify, and harmonize new datasets, and publish them on bdsp.io

- Aggregate and transform raw data coming from a variety of data sources to fulfill the functional & non-functional requirements (e.g., Microsoft SQL, Apache Hive, Apache HBase, Enterprise Data Warehouse, bedside monitors (HL7), EEG recordings (waveforms), web services, and others).

-Engaging in all facets of software development: requirements gathering, functional and technical specification, infrastructure definition, data architecture design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, and support of new applications.

-Mentoring teammates and sharing knowledge of computer science best practices with the team.

- Create and maintain related documentation including software specifications, pipeline diagrams, dataflow diagrams, integration schemas, interoperability relationships, etc.

-Refine software development processes and best practices.
