Baystate Health is seeking a visionary and strategic executive to serve as Vice President & Chief Digital Transformation Officer. This role is a critical system leader responsible for activating and leading the Digital Transformation Office (DTO), serving as the coordination and decision-support backbone across IT, Digital, Clinical, and Operational domains.
This is an enterprise leadership position focused on governance activation, portfolio discipline, and enabling executive decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES: As VP & Chief Digital Transformation Officer, you will bring structure, clarity, and discipline to system-wide transformation efforts. You will partner closely with executive leadership to ensure investments, priorities, and initiatives are aligned to strategy, optimized for value, and executed with accountability.
You will operate with delegated authority from the Chief Information & Digital Officer (CIDO) to shape governance, elevate decision-making, and drive enterprise-wide alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Governance Leadership
- Establish and operationalize enterprise governance forums (e.g., IT Steering Committees, Data Governance Council)
- Define decision rights, escalation pathways, and operating cadence
- Enforce participation, standards, and accountability across leadership teams
- Align governance structures with executive leadership and President’s Council priorities
Portfolio Strategy & Oversight
- Lead and oversee the enterprise IT and digital transformation portfolio
- Implement standardized intake, business case development, prioritization, and reporting processes
- Align initiatives with enterprise strategy, capital planning, and operational priorities
- Facilitate quarterly portfolio reviews and ongoing performance monitoring
Executive Decision Enablement
- Surface cross-domain risks, trade-offs, and decision points to executive leadership
- Recommend enterprise-level prioritization and sequencing of initiatives
- Escalate capacity constraints, delivery risks, and strategic conflicts
- Provide clear, data-driven insights to support executive and board-level decisions
Value Realization & Performance
- Establish and oversee benefit realization tracking and ROI measurement
- Develop portfolio health metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators
- Reinforce accountability for outcomes across sponsors and domain leaders
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing IT Transformation Office
- Coach and develop program and portfolio management leaders
- Foster a culture of enterprise accountability, transparency, and disciplined execution

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree- STEM, required
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare IT, digital transformation, enterprise operations, or strategic program leadership
- Demonstrated success leading complex, enterprise-wide transformation portfolios
- Deep experience with governance design, portfolio management, and capital planning
- Proven ability to influence across service lines and executive stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen, including ROI modeling and value realization
- Exceptional executive presence with experience presenting to senior leadership and boards

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
